Karel Doruyter AFCAContinually stretching the dimensional concept from the pictorial two to sculptural relief, Karel builds up the canvas, board or wood panel using a mixture of materials. Originally used in his Death Series, the three dimensional execution lends itself well to the more traditional landscape, especially arboreal subject matter. Lately he has applied the same technique to figure and abstract works with similar success. Using a limited palette, he continues to explore isolated places in
his paintings both geographical and emotional, the inward and outward
